PLOT: Patrick O' Neal plays Elliot Markham, who kills wealthy businessman Bo Williamson over plans to build 'Williamson City'. Markham and Williamson have a fierce row and Williamson says he will put a stop to Markham's plans so Markham kills him. Then Columbo shows up and is soon on Markham's tail. However, there is a problem. There is no body. Then, as the episode develops Columbo takes a keen interest in a building site and one particular area of the site in particular. He makes sure that Markham knows that he suspects the body is buried underneath it, as it was erected the day after the murder. He orders the area to be dug up. It takes some time and there is no body. Columbo is left looking rather foolish, or so we are led to believe. Markham, meanwhile, realises that Columbo could not dig up any of the site again, so he takes the body, which he has hidden in an old shed, and drives late at night to the building site. However, as he prepares to bury the body lights come. Columbo is waiting for him. He second-guessed Markham.
VERDICT:
This is a decent episode. The villain lacks that extra spark to make him a great adversary and the plot is not complex enough to make it really intriguing.
